Dear Farragut Shipmates,
My name is Tom Randall. I was an MM on Farragut from 1976 - 80. I am a proud, active and original member of the Farragut Ship's Association, Inc. I serve as the founding Editor of Farragut Flash, our biannual newsletter as well as the Secretary and the Membership Committee Chair. Farragut Flash is a newsletter meant to keep all Farragut sailors past and present informed of what the newest DDG is doing, what our shipmates are up to and as a means to tell our sea stories. All of that has to come from you! Please mail any submissions for the next Farragut Flash to me @ farragut_flash@cox.net. If you do not like using E-mail send them to me @ the address on latest issue of Farragut Flash by clicking the convenient link above this letter.
Please help me maintain a database of Farragut shipmates by sending me your current address, telephone number, E-mail, and the years you were aboard DD 348; DLG-6/DDG 37; or DDG 99. Ratings or ranks are nice to know too. The FSA database has 126 members and another 150+ shipmates that choose to abstain from membership. That's their choice, but I send newsletters to each and every Farragut shipmate for whom I have POC information. Send me shipmates' addresses so that I might add them to the distribution list and help you reunite with shipmates - it's great to meet old shipmates and find out we weren't the only ones that had a great (or lousy) time aboard. Tin Can service changes everybody....and by the way I thank each of you for your Navy service to this great nation of ours.
Please join the FSA, click the link on the Home Page for a membership application. $30 in dues covers the periods between reunions and covers the cost of newsletters, home pages and ensures our continuing legacy, thank you.
Remember - We honor "One Legendary Admiral and Five Extraordinary Ships!"
Very Respectfully Submitted by your Farragut Shipmate,
Tom, "Working for the Good of the Order"
